My Half Sister!

I finally had the pleasure of meeting my half sister, Jacqui, yesterday as we celebrated my 46th birthday. She's 4 years younger than me....but much taller!
She also has a much more outgoing personality than me and is very witty! She's fun to be around!

A Beautiful Dog

Our next door neighbour's father has a beautiful dog who is a Husky, but he's also part wolf!
He has the coveted "one brown eye, one blue eye". I was reading about "wolfdogs" and I believe this guy has a low percentage of wolf in him.

He was visiting yesterday as his owner cut down our 50 year old, half dead apple tree in our backyard.

I took these photos mostly for my daughter, because she thinks he's gorgeous and she wants one of his puppies! Apparently he gets studded every year and helps produce a batch of pups.

Although he's very beautiful, I don't have time to look after a dog, so my daughter won't be getting a puppy anytime soon! They're a lot of work and this one enjoys going for 3 hour walks every day!

Black Ladybug with No Spots

Today I saw something I'd never seen before...a black ladybug with no spots.
When I was in Holland, I saw a black ladybug with two red spots...which was pretty cool, but I've never seen a pure black ladybug here in Ontario in all my years.

Luckily I had my camera nearby, so I photographed the bug. We were cutting down our old, 50 year old apple tree in the backyard today....so I suspect the ladybug was one of the tree's inhabitants.
Sadly, the tree had to go. It was dead in a lot of places and it dropped rotting apples everywhere attracting Yellow Jackets....my least favorite insect!

Minotaur Head

My 13 year old son is big enough to wear the Minotaur head I made for his step-father. He was playing around with it a bit today!

Maybe I should alter the costume so he can borrow it in the future.

CNE 2010

I didn't take many photos this year....not sure why....but I at least took these of my husband and daughter riding the carousel together! It was coming to a stop in the second photo...my daughter wouldn't be that brave if it was going full tilt!

I was sure to photograph my favorite prog rock tribute band, Druckfarben when they played at the Budweiser Midway Stage, August 31st though!
