I Just Saw "Coraline"

WOW! This film is visually STUNNING! It was an absolute feast for the eyes! Here are some stills I grabbed from the web. These images do not do the film justice. It was beautiful!
I saw it in 3D....with the glasses....and it was absolutely breath-taking.

I think what impressed me the most is that it was done in traditional stop-motion. I LOVE the fact that they built actual sets and used real lighting. It created an atmosphere that you just don't get with CG alone.
Look at this house! Isn't that just gorgeous!? Okay...I'm biased because I LOVE dollhouses. But still......
Apparently, all these cherry blossoms were made from pink painted popcorn!

I highly recommend this film. I took my kids, and although my 8 year old was a little frightened at some parts, I still think it was very family friendly, but NOT sappy. The music was great too.

Hi S

I loved it as well. And I too saw it in the 3d format.

Great stuff...great lighting, and I love the fact that they pulled no punches in the storytelling, and did not sugar coat it in the "DISNEY" fashion.

I did have some misgivings about the Dad design, and how he was animated. Just a little too floppy for me.

Perfection otherwise!!

And how about that great dancing performing mouse section under the big top!

Btw...I have the Vincent Price dvd you are looking for....

Yeah, no Disney sugar coat!
The Dad design was a bit weird wasn't it....but not so much that it took away from the film. I thought his voice in the dream world sounded like the same voice actor who did Roly Poly Ollie's Dad.

Also, maybe I could borrow that Vincent Price dvd from you?

Sure.

You going to see the Neil Young Un's in April?

Perhaps I can give it to you then, or maybe we can meet for a beer. I've suggested a beer or two to Rich as well, so maybe we can do that?

Email me, and meaybe we can hook up somehow.
