First Needle Felting Projects

For my very first needle felting project, I decided to go with something very simple that I am familiar with.....the Ookpik.

I put him next to the original Ookpik I made many years ago out of sheepskin.

This evening, I was inspired to make another miniature animal using the needle felting technique.......a tiny skunk!

Blood Relatives

This was my Great Great Grandfather on my mother's side.
I believe the woman to the far right was my Great Great Grandmother, and the woman on the left was my Great Grandmother
Here is my Great Grandmother holding my Grandmother

Here is my Grandmother, and her husband, my Grandfather

And then my Grandmother, Mother, Grandfather and Aunt

New Years Day

New Years Day spent with my blood relatives! Interestingly, being blood related doesn't make you necessarily get along with your relatives, but I'm really lucky, because there's a very strong genetic bond that runs through our family. We're all very creative. We're either craftspeople, artists, or actors. It's so strong that it even runs right through to the younger ones!

My daughter draws non-stop, and my son is a budding film maker! Jacqui's children are always creating too!

The Dino-peptic Germ

Because I was trying to remember what this thing looked like (from the Flintstones episode "The X-Ray Story") and couldn't find an image of it, I'm posting this so others can have this reference too. When ever I think of a "germ", I always seem to default to this thing! I guess because I was still fairly young when I first saw this episode on TV and there weren't many science shows on at the time to show me what a real germ looked like.
Okay....so I was a dumb kid.

A Toy Paramecium

I made a stuffed toy paramecium and my kids liked it! I think I'll make some more!
