Once again I've been gardening, and I had to take a photo of this tiny Dolichopodidae fly on a newly opened lily. It's a metallic green one. I think those flies are so cute!
And here was what I thought was a dying Bumblebee Drone from a couple days ago. Bumble Bees don't mate until Autumn, so I'm not sure if this may have been a victim of the Cuckoo Bumble Bee which invades nests of legitimate Bumble Bees. This one had surely been through a fight by the look of its damaged wings.

Little Girl Giant Marionette
I've been obsessed with this Little Girl Giant marionette ever since I first saw her on a Kings of Jupiter music video. I first thought she had been made in India, but she was made in France by the Royal De Luxe street theatre group. She's amazing!

My Contribution
I recently discovered that a group of people, mostly women, are building a hyperbolic crochet coral reef. They said anyone from around the world is welcome to participate, so I'm making a piece. I was absolutely horrified to learn of the "Trash Vortex" in the Pacific Ocean also. This project is to raise awareness of the ever growing plastic garbage problem and Global Warming which is threatening the world's coral reefs...as well as other life forms.
I've made this piece from plastic shopping bags cut into strips and crocheted together using a simple 'single crochet' stitch. There are links in my sidebar which have more info on this project.

The Elm Next Door
You know, I thought I knew a fair amount about nature, but I didn't know that the gorgeous tree our next door neighbours have in their backyard is an Elm! I thought all Elms were killed off in Southern Ontario by Dutch Elm Disease, but apparently there are a few tough ones that have survived.
This tree houses squirrels and raccoons as well as providing food for the local Cottontails. I see them out there eating the fallen leaves and twigs.
We have a family of Cottontails living nearby because I often see two of them in our yard around our birdfeeder. This morning I saw three of the little cuties! I was only able to photograph the two....at 6:30 this morning.....and they wouldn't hold still.
I know they can cause a lot of damage to people's gardens, but they just seem to be eating the grass and clover...and the occasional dandelion. I like to put chicken wire around my vegetables though....just in case.

Me Singing at Starz Music Night II
I apologize for the poor quality of this video, but I had to record it with my digital camera off of my computer screen from the DVD. A special thanks goes out to Dave (Bass Slave) Bachelor for making this song happen. It was actually the ONLY song I really wanted to sing that night, and it almost didn't get on the playlist! The sound quality isn't horrible, but the visuals are very blurry. Let me know what you think.......you know who I mean....Willy and Denis!
